Speaker Bass asks everyone to take their seats. She welcomes first lady and her family. The first lady is looking lovely in a purple suit. Bass introduces the elected officers. Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger is announced. He takes a purposeful stroll through chambers, shaking hands, saying hello to colleagues, and looking quite dapper.
Speaker Bass introduces Senator Pro Tem Darrell Steinberg who then introduces the Governor.
