Allow me to accept individual responsibility for any energy I consume by allowing me to PAY some business for meeting my needs. The state is now trying to impose itself between legitimate purchasers and legitimate suppliers.

I know people who set their thermostat such that they can where a t-shirt and shorts inside when it’s 40 degrees outside. That’s totally irresponsible and as long as there are people like that, the threat of government intrusion will continue. It seems to me to be less about global climate change and more about available power and the fact that we’re running out. If we, the people, take voluntary steps to be responsible, that should take care of the problem.
