Guess Mickey never heard of “heads on a stick”. That’s what happened to poor old Republican Assemblymember Anthony Adams when he tried to be bipartisan. John and Ken are just clones of Limbaugh, Beck, Hannity, etc., whose mantra is: support the Rabid Right 100 percent or you are a traitor!

And I’m sorry Gayle doesn’t believe in majority rule unless she is in the majority.

bad idea for the change–we need a 2/3 vote requirement, so nothing of importance (fiscally or otherwise)
is crammed down our throats again. Is this just a petition so far or is it actually on the ballot?

The state of New York has a simple majority vote and the last time I checked had only had 2 on time budgets since 1984.

You MIGHT ask yourself how much good the democratic majority has done for California. Anytime the progressive democrats want bipartisanship, all they have to do is allow some Republican/Conservative ideas into the legislation.

Ever notice how the bleed-’em-dry pro-tax zealots never ask Democrats to actually work with Republicans to solve the budget problems?

Ever notice how people who prattle a lot about the “majority” never remember that the majority of voters put that “veto by the anti-tax zealots” in the first place?

Ever notice how “bipartisanship” is used by those whose idol is government as a code word for “everybody else shut up”?

Simple majority vote means that the majority party won’t be subject to a veto by the anti-tax zealots and that the Republicans will actually have to work with the Democrats to solve our budget problems. OMG, we can’t have any of that cooperation and bipartisanship now, can we?

The simple majority budget vote won’t solve any problems, it just means the majority party needs only a slimmer majority.

Some of the other objectives of California Forward are good, but it seems unlikely that a constitutional change in the presence of a progressive majority would be a bad idea overall.
