State worst place to do business!

A healthy round of congratulations to state officials is definitely in order. A press release just sent out by Senator Robert Dutton[1]‘s office says the State of California is “ranked as the worst state in the nation to do business, a distiniction it hasw now held for six straight years,” according to Chief Executive Magazine.

That’s right, folks: California is dead last for conducting business. You can read the Chief Executive results here[2], but in a nutshell, the regulatory climate apparently makes the state suck like a Hoover Upright when it comes to starting or running a business.

In fact, one participant in Chief Executive‘s survey said, “California is terrible. Even when we’ve paid their high taxes in full, they still treat every conversation as adversarial. It’s the most difficult state in the nation. We have actually walked away from business rather than deal with the government in Sacramento.”

If this is the point of California’s state officials, then they’re doing a bang-up job.
