Katy Grimes: Thursday evening, a man was arrested by Sacramento County Sheriff[1]‘s deputies after making multiple threatening phone calls to the campaign office of Barbara Alby, candidate[2] for Senate District 1, and acting board member for the Board of Equalization[3].
The arrest record [4]states that Daniel Meader Todd, made “threats to commit a crime resulting in death or great bodily injury.”
Alby said, “It was scary.” She said she is shaken and her kids are shaken because the numerous calls were made to Alby’s campaign office which is located within a business owned by her daughter. Apparently Todd threatened to harm Ably at the office location.
When she was in the Assembly and working on Megan’s Law, Alby said she received threats then as well, and her children were threatened. This latest incident stirred up unpleasant memories of previous incidents.
However, Mr. Todd is in custody with a $100,000 bail, and Alby will be pursuing prosecution.
