If the CA environmentalists are against it, chances are it is a good idea. CarboCeramics, ticker symbol CRR makes ceramic sand like particles used in hydraulic fracture technology. Look up the stock chart.

Wells naturally containing methane occur naturally all over CA. Well driller’s hate them because they can explode when they make a spark or when welding a casing. It has nothing to do with hydraulic fracturing.

The hit piece HBO movie “Gasland” shows how desperate the environmentalist extremists are over falling natural gas prices. Such a crude transparent propaganda piece belongs on PBS.

excellent aricle; minor points to suggest. Fracking is anything BUT “new”–it’s been in use for at least six decades. (btw, with absolutely no ground water contamination nor dometic well gas explosions) Also most of the equipment for renewable technologies is imported (combined with hostile regimes monopoly on strategic metals needed for those same technologies) adds little to no “independence” although the particular boogeyman may change. As for peak oil, we have over 200 years at current rate of consumption (according to IEA and EIA) plus we find more the more we use–a little more Julian Simon and a little less Malthus will go a long way in getting better policy in California.
