I wonder if this is a plot to take nationalize the airline industry. Destroy the market so nobody flies, bankrupt the airlines and then pick them up for change. Hugo Chavez would be proud.

I try never to be caught up in the next group hysteria. The new security procedures have all the necessary elements of just that.

However, I too will not fly until they are changed. A news report showing a little old gray haired woman in a wheel chair being patted down pushed me to the resistance side.

Our Federal government is often times wrong. We get used to this. However their policy at the airport is so wrong and misguided I simply choose to no longer be a part of it.

FWIW, we just flew from San Jose to Ontario and back for an overnight TG visit. Although I went through a “conventional” metal detector instead of the new scanner, there was no groping. In fact, I did not see anyone being groped. This was Thursday afternoon around 2:30 pm.

But, I have been meticulously groped in the recent past at SFO (for wearing these stupid “cargo” shorts with a 1000 zippers that set off the metal detector), and it was not fun. I should have taken the shorts off (and put them through the x-ray) and gone through the metal deteector in my underwear. Would have been faster and less embarrassing (at least, for me).
