I have lived in California since I was a kid in the 1960’s and have seen ups and downs, but this is the death knell for California’s once-robust economy. The only jobs left will be in fast food and gardening. I am an engineer who once had a really great job in the aerospace/defense industry, (one of the fields that has been on the skids since Clinton took office in 1993). My wife and I are hanging on, but our house appraised at $268,000 in 2006 and the house next door sold last summer for $57,000 — that was for four bedrooms…ours has only three. We’re in for only about $125,000, but, when the time comes (in about a year), we are going to take a walk and pay cash for some place in another state.

California is finished unless some grownups start running things again.

In the midst of complete failure of this once great state all the pandering career politicians got re-elected, or elected, to simply carry out their own political agendas to the detrement of everyone else. They said they won’t raise ‘taxes’ but watch then disguise taxes as increased ‘fees’ and cuts. These idiots in Sacramento have no clue about running a state, which basically is a business. If I could I would be out of this state in a heartbeat but I can’t even afford that due to being broke due to taxes and fees.

There are 2 ways to look at “the beginning of the end.” It may be the beginning of the end to California, or it may be the beginning of the end to silly fatal elitism of CARB and cohorts. The rest of the world is abandoning global warming seppuku, perhaps we may too.

I suggest everyone read Ian Plimer’s well documented study of climate, Heaven and Earth.

If after reading this book you still believe in man made global warming you are either a fool, or your professed belief is no more than a smokescreen for your real agenda.

We in CA have elected the fools and liars who have given us AB32. I stay in CA for family reasons, but otherwise would be gone to saner pastures in a heart beat.

What discretionary spending? My family of 4 with twin 12 year olds is already abour $20,000 behind in ‘deferred expenses’, things we really need, but can’t afford. You know, things like braces for a 12 year olds’ teeth?
When our utility rates ‘necessarily skyrocket’, we will have to choose between heating the house or buying food.
