As I wrote in a blog yesterday[2], California Rep. Nancy Pelosi, the former House Speaker, cackled at President Obama’s joke about the TSA’s molestation pat-downs of innocent American citizens.

Now we know why she thinks the joke was as funny as a barrel of congressional monkeys. Reports Judicial Watch[3]:

According to the documents, obtained through the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), Pelosi used Air Force aircraft for 43 flights from January 1 to October 1, 2010. According to documents previously uncovered by Judicial Watch, by comparison, Nancy Pelosi logged 47 flights in the prior nine-month period, April 1, 2009, to January 1, 2010.

So she doesn’t have to go through a regular airport and get felt-up by the TSA Gestapo. She’s part of the Elite, those exempt from the oppressions the government imposes on the rest of us.

That right there says all you need to know about what’s wrong with government: a remote elite, out of touch with the people, lives it up at the expense of the rest of the country, enjoying perks and pleasures that would have made the Russian czars envious.

While the economy continues in a Depression, with unemployment almost 10% — and 25% if you count those who quit looking for work[4]. And while even those with jobs are ground down by taxes to pay for the Elite’s Lucullan[5] delights.
