Nestande's Hilarious Hypocrisy

Steven Greenhut: Assemblyman Brian Nestande, R-Palm Desert, released a statement following the governor’s State of the State speech that left me with a pain in my side from laughter: “I look forward to working with the Governor to pass honest solutions to balance the budget, reform Sacramento and get Californians working again. I stand firm in my commitment not to raise taxes, which is a critical component of the Governor’s plan to solve the $25.4 billion budget gap. We have to cut state spending to solve our fiscal crisis.[bold and emphasis added]”

This is the same Assemblyman Nestande who last week stood at a left-wing union rally as unionistas chanted, “No more cuts.” Nestande was opposing cuts to a wasteful, scandal-plagued home-health-care services program that pays family members to take care of their loved ones. A friend of mine signed up for this travesty — and quickly received the membership packet from SEIU.

Nestande is against cuts, per the rally. So how can he claim that cutting spending is the way to solve our fiscal crisis. Doesn’t this harm his credibility at least a little bit?
