Here are two more examples of decline in Silicon Valley:

New $15 Million Effort Launched To Preserve Land Around Silicon Valley -- Hoping to preserve farmland, redwood forests and coastal bluffs from development before real estate prices rebound, five land trusts on Thursday will announce a new $15 million effort to join forces with a goal of protecting 10,000 acres in Silicon Valley and its neighboring communities over the next three years. PAUL ROGERS in the San Jose Mercury News -- 3/10/11

Santa Rosa Abandons Development Tax Fight -- Santa Rosa will not appeal the ruling of a judge who found a special city property tax on new homes unconstitutional. KEVIN MCCALLUM in the Santa Rosa Press -- 3/9/11

Silicon-ites are more interested in inflating their home values by excluding outsiders with high prices from high taxes, buying up competitive land for "open space," and otherwise keeping outsiders out. Silicon Valley is a declining area contrary to the public image. It is in demographic decline and won't be able to replace its population. Like Italy will one day cease to be Italian due to immigration and a falling birthrate, Silicon Valley will turn into Silly Con Valley.

Solyndra canceled their plans for a new factory in Fremont that was Stimulus Funded and was supposed to create thousands of new jobs. In addition to scrapping plans for their new factory, they also announced that they were going to lay off half of their current employees at the factory they already had. After Obama & Ahnold held big press events at Solyndra in order to show the World what California's "Green" future looked like, Solyndra canceled their planned IPO because the company's financial condition was a mess.

I guess Obama & Ahnold were right about one thing; California's "Green" future is going to consist of a landscape full of empty State of the Art buildings that once housed "Green" companies that burned through an unimaginable amount of Government Subsidies & VC Funding, yet were never capable of producing products that could compete on the open market.

The Brains in Silicon Valley never took into account that it only takes a room in their office to house a Server that can store incredible amounts of Data and can make the Billions of Dollars, yet it takes acres upon acres of precious California Land (not to mention the Endless Enviro Studies & Lawsuits) to build a Solar or Wind Energy Facility that is not even powerful or efficient enough to power a City, let alone one of the most populated States in the Country. Success in the Tech Industry does not mean you will have success in the "Green" sector, and I have a feeling that many people in the Bay Area are going to learn that lesson the hard way.
