Where’s Waldo in the Western U.S.?

Take a look at the bar graph below, excerpted from the San Francisco Federal Reserve website[1].  The graph shows in the blue bars the percent of budget deficit in each Western state in the U.S. in 20011.

The red shows projected state budget deficits for 2012.

See if you can pick out which is the only state that the budget deficit is projected to increase substantially for 2012.

By golly, you’re smart! California is the only state in the Western U.S. where budget deficits are projected to substantially increase from about 20 percent to 30 percent of the General Fund budget.
