During this time in our society, this tool is becomming more and more important to the average citizen, who would not be able to access information about "bad actors" who may potentially be awarded jobs via the sealed bid system, not to mention "public" employees and elected officials who have performed in bad faith, and who need to have action taken against them by other government entities, since the courts take the position that the general public lacks legal "standing" to take action against them in the criminal arena, and their legal fees are paid by the public if sued in the civil arena. People really need to understand what this potentially means, and stand up and speak out about this now. The California Public Records Act is an amazing tool that is one of the few things keeping the honest honest at this point...don't let it be undermined!
