As a Californian who voted and supported the concept of a 'California Citizens Redistricting Commission' back in 2008, and as one of thousands of Californians seeking to "serve" on the citizens redistricting commission our hopes were that the "screening process" would demonstrate the integrity, honesty, fairness and thoroughness necessary for a fair non-partisan redistricting. I don't believe overall that the 'redistricting commission' is dishonest or unfair however, I knew that it would only take one dishonest, calculating individual on the commission to make the entire process "appear" unjust. I don't know what the verdict is on Dr. Aguirre, but if it falls on the side of "dishonesty" and he did not reveal his past political involvement in the application process for redistricting commission, then his participation in the current redistricting process has "tainted" the process and will give rise to multiple lawsuits by various interest groups. Its unfortunate that "the people" of California who supported the concept of a "citizens redistricting commission" will have to suffer the fallout of one or two dishonest individuals whose only interest is their own and not the interest of all Californians. If Dr. Aguirre is found to have been dishonest in this matter I hope he prosecuted to the "full extent" of the law for perjury and that the salary he received as a commissioner would be returned to the State of California with punitive damages and interest. Let "dishonesty" by any public official be made an example of by prosecution under the law!

These Commissioners don't sound any different than the liberal democratic buffoons in the California Legislature that just approved a pie in the sky budget, eliminated the only job producer in the State; that is Redevelopment, and mandated that we start teaching kindegartener's about homosexuality!!! This State and Federal Government is so broken it is frightening!!!!!!!!!

This guy is dangerous. I was watching the Commission meeting on July 14 around 4 PM or so and Aguirre literally said he was advocating a certain map to protect the rights of migrant farm workers, those that live in MEXICO and migrate up into areas of California!!! So his vote on a map was to protect Mexican citizens' rights, not ours!!! So I guess he gladly assumes they vote here?!
