The redistricting committee should NEVER have been allowed to have politicians on it! It also should be looking at the voters as a community of interest. It should take the population of the state divided 80 assembly districts, and determine the boundaries that way.

gj – forgive my grammar slip – It is proper to say “Democratic” when the word is used as an adjective, and “Democrat” when used as a noun.

It is not meant as a slur. However, the Democrats I know have always referred to themselves as Democrats, and never use the word “Democratic” unless describing the process. It appears that only recently has the word “Democrat” been deemed offensive.

It looks like the commish is doing it’s job. The establishment types are really ticked about possibly having to work for your vote and they’re nice safe districts that they have gerrymandered are now looking like they’re going away…. GO COMMISSION

What is a “Democrat activist?” What is the “Democrat Party?” Is it possible you’re talking about a “Democratic activist” and the “Democratic Party?”

Please, don’t use these slurs. The party is the “DemocratIC Party,” and to call it something else is extremely offensive. Thanks.

Editor’s Note: I corrected the text. Our usage is “Democratic,” except if it’s a direct quote. But no offense was meant. Over the years I’ve known Democrats who preferred “Democrat” as the adjective instead of “Demcoratic.” But I think the GOP has turned “Democrat” as an adjective into an insult. — John Seiler
