It is now Sept 2019. My monthly “System Infrastructure Fixed Charge” is over $20. Nearly 1/4 of my electric cost has nothing to do with the amount I use.

Public hearing on proposed rate increase 7/18/13 9am (of course).6201 S street can we please flood their building with outraged rate payers.For my 10×14 foot studio apartment My “system infrastructure fixed charge” is 3x my electric usage and I am not on any form of government assistance.If we do nothing 2.5 percent increase in 2014 and 2.5 percent 2015.Oh and it is costing more for “infrastructure” so thats going up too. Please try and educate 1 person.If you live in an apt building or have renters in your commercial building have them sign a statement that you prepare saying NO to this monopoly.If we all plan to show up I promise you they will be shamed. No people show we get what we deserve.

We have had power issues in our La Riviera neighborhood for many years. Quick power outages that do not even register on our smart readers so the engineers at SMUD do not have a way to track them. I have been working with Howard Posner through our neighborhood watch and his hookup with SMUD’s engineering team on reporting the issues directly to them.

Bottom line. The “infrastructure fee” has allowed me to push the issue of getting our infrastructure fixed.

I like fees based on personal use, not spreading it across everyone.

My power usage last bill was $56.00 My System Infrastructure fee was $306.00. Give me an f…ing break. I am being charged for maybe using power. This is just wrong.

What the …. Isn’t our monthly bill enough? They call it “System Infrastructure Fixed Charge” so we can feel better about paying more? We need to do something about. It seem our government are adding on extra fees to almost everything.

Just noticed that their billing date is arbitrary, so that mean if you use more than $60 /month then afterward the rate is double per kw. With natural gas price in the $2 range-lowest in 20 years, SMUD making big profit.

I would assume that during the months when electric get used the most SMUD is going to extend the billing dates to make sure you paying double.

I received SMUD’s lame explanation in my last bill and came to the same conclusion about being punished for being very conservative with my electrical usage. And I don’t recall being advised of the impending changes in advance. But they always make us feel better by telling us that our electric rates are still 20% lower than PG&E. California will succeed in it’s push to get everyone to move elsewhere.
