If you care about the good of the country why don’t you and your unions agree to salary and pension cuts instead of always forcing the poor to take cuts and the taxpsyers to pay more?

Wow! All the commentors seem to love taxes. What do you want to bet they don’t pay those taxes they want to increase.

Skippy is a public employee, a GED cop, so yes he is one whop directly benefits from increasing taxes.

I hate to burst your bubble but you cannot tax yourself out of an economic problem and eventually you will run out of other people’s money to spend.

Public employees don’t care about the good of the country as a whole, only themselves.

Certain states have no income tax, like NV, but that in the case of NV it was b/c the casinos brought in so much cash they didn’t need the state income tax-now things have changed and the casinos are not the only place where gambling is going on, Indian casinos are in every state today-CA has 55 Indian casinos and in 20 short years they are almost bringing in as much revenue as the NV casinos do.

CALIFORNIA SHOULD LHAVE EFT THE UNION YEARS AGO. THE CHARGES FOR US MILITARY BASES WOULD HAVE PAID FOR FREE MEDICAL AND AT LEAST LOWER INCOME TAX.
DO YOU STILL HAVR PROP 13 TAX BREAK WELL IT SHOULDBE AT LEAST CUT IN HALF,
CALIFORNIA WILL ALWAYS BE MY HOME NO MATTER WHERE i LIVE.

Well, no matter what happens with all these tax initiatives trying to make it on the ballot it makes no never mind.

You just wait until next year when the DemoNcrats get their two-thirds majority. You think Cawleefornia (as Ahnode sez) income taxes are high now?

If you were here in California when Union Oil decimated a hundred miles of our coastline and killed millions of coastal animals when one of their Santa Barbara Channel rigs blew out in 1969, you’d understand why we have strict environmental protection laws and how they came to pass. Until the Exxon Valdez and the recent BP spill in the Gulf, the Santa Barbara spill was the largest oil spill in U.S. history. The clean up took years and was never complete. Moreover, Unocal never paid for the full costs involved but shifted them to the taxpayers of our state.

When the oil companies whine about California environmental regulations, they have only themselves to blame for their enactment.
