Lower class working people that can’t get insurance get bankrupted, just like beelzebub says. This has happened to my brother who works in construction and has multiple ailments. I remember times when he was hospitalized and went in and plunked down $9,000 saying, “Here take it, it’s all I have”. Then trying to pay off monthly the rest of his bill. He finally got Kaiser, which was a crappy HMO care denying plan for over $700 per month. We need to cut illegals coming in here and using the system for emergency rooms and everything else for free. CA was building a new school every day to accomodate all the immigration growth. Education is 1/3 of our budget and growing.

I have had both HMO and PPO’s and can emphatically state that doctors on contracts for HMO’s act like you are taking money from their pocket when you want an expensive test, AND the do get kicked out if they cost the insurance co too much. There needs to be a law that insurance companies can only regulate how much they will pay for treatments, not how doctors treat.

If there’s one aspect of American life that should be designed to exclusively benefit the collective population it should be our healthcare system. Unfortunately it has been designed to benefit the corporations. It’s barbaric that an American citizen with pre-existing disease is blackballed from purchasing a insurance policy from these cherry picking insurance companies. A guy like that has no chance. His first sickness that required hospitalization would bankrupt him. That simply shouldn’t happen in this wealthy nation.

The health care and pharma companies bribe the politicians to enact unjust laws that screw ordinary Americans and favor the corporations. That’s why we spend 18% of our GDP on healthcare.

Remember when Obama promised us that Obamacare would give ordinary americans the same health care plan as congress and if an individual made less than $250,000 he would not have to pay an extra dime to fund Obamacare??? I do. He’s the biggest liar since Pinochhio.

I think you’re correct, ANYTHING is better than the system we have now-where the inflation costs are double that of inflation.

Obamacare is another scheme to transfer massive amounts of wealth from the working class to big business via mandatory coverage. All americans will be required to buy private health care insurance from the Wall Street oligarchs to be enforced by the strong arm of the IRS. So while the gov enablers threaten to cut provider reimbursements which will hurt the patient populations more than $80B in additional annual revenue will pour into the Wall Street insurance corps and third party administators.

Personally I would rather live under Canada’s health care program than what America offers today. All polls indicate that Canadians have a much higher satisfaction rate with their HC plan than Americans have with ours. It is a myth that Canadians pour over the border to use our HC facilities. Pure BS and propoganda. Don’t believe a word of it.
