Yes, I understand, but in all fairness that is the problem. You can not tell society to be responsible in child birth if you allow the promotion of fornication in every level of society. Hollywood promotes it, the music industry promotes it, our schools promote it. So you are educating society to engage in sexual relations outside of marriage which was never our Makers intention. You are setting up our youth for a fall. Telling them to not get pregnant on one hand and promoting sexual relations on the other. Now you don't want to have women terminating pregnancy and want them to recognize the sacredness of life? You have to agree it's backwards and you are going to fail in your efforts until the individuals motives are changed. So are we going to feel better about ourselves if "less" abortions are performed? I agree "less" is better than more, but honestly it's all murder. Is a little murder OK?

As an aside I believe it is the churches(plural) fault. There is no longer the power of the gospel in her midst to keep men from sin. They don't teach obedience as a requirement for salvation which is what the Bible teaches. Jesus was obedient to the death. Government is not going to fix the problem, the only cure for man's fallen condition is the gospel. If the church(s) would do her part then we would see a willing decrease in the crimes of today without legislation.

"The cure is to make fornication and adultery punishable by law again"

That's a bit over the top, David H.

Half of the adult population would go to prison. You are advocating a full-blown police state. We don't need more laws. We just need to enforce the laws already on the books so that those in power are subject to the same laws as the little people. If the President uses a bogus birth cert he should be charged with a felony. If a banker steals his customer's account funds he should be charged with a felony. Let's start there.

The cure is to make fornication and adultery punishable by law again. The government has the right to legislate in matters of civility (the relation between individuals) as outlined in the last six commandments of God's law. Fornication is the crime and now we are trying to treat the result (abortion of unwanted babies). Until the root cause is addressed it will remain a political and hypocritical issue.

I'm curious. What is the Libertarian Party's stance on abortion? That's got to be a tough one. Do they support giving the woman the freedom to choose, or do they reject that freedom in favor of protecting the fetus?

Anyone know?

Don't you know? Abortion is soooo restricted in California that we only have the 6th highest abortion rate in the nation. California plays second-fiddle to Maryland, Washington, D.C., New Jersey, New York, and Delaware.

CHART: Rate of Abortions Performed by State

It makes you wonder what the intent of the bill really is.
