Chuck is just another hack who’s out for Chuck DeVore. The only question anyone should ask him is why he didn’t leave for the Old Confederacy sooner.

I agree, Steve, that a man has to feed his family and I don’t blame him for leaving for that reason. But, he tried to make the uninformed believe it was because he had this great job when the truth was, he couldn’t find a cush career political job here. He had the best chance against Spitzer but that was a slim one. And, to say that others stayed out of the race is disingenuous. Others had plenty of time after Devore left to file, but did not because they also knew they had little chance against the Spitzer name.

Instead of dissing Spitzer, try giving him a chance to show that he has changed. But don’t express libertarian expression from any Republican.

I guess Chuck didn’t play the game well enough to get a commission seat up in Sactown after he got termed out of the assembly. Only bottom feeders who sold their souls while in office get rewarded with those $175k jobs.

I too am disappointed that Chuck failed to finish something that he started with the BoS race. Spitzer can’t be trusted. I remember when Assemblyman Spitzer spoke to the Board of Supervisors during public comments after Carona got charged and he was waving around that Duke LaCrosse book on prosecutorial misconduct! I almost threw up in my mouth. 😀

I don’t mind that Chuck decided to leave California for Texas. A person has to feed his family, but I do mind that he started running for an important race and then bailed in the middle of it. Other candidates stayed out of the race because Chuck was in it. So the timing of decision has assured that one of the worst-possible candidates will win the supervisors’ seat. Chuck will share a good bit of the blame.

And not one word as to why Chuck left. Just pissing and moaning about how much better the state of Texas is than California. I agree. But, Chucks real reason foot leaving was because he had skin chance (read none) of beating Todd Spitzer for the supervisor job and, thereby making himself a career politician. At a time when he needed a job, they offered him one in Texas. That is the real reason he left.
