As much as I dislike Hillary she didn’t use tarot cards to run the country while her husband was incapacitated by his sex scandal. Nancy Reagan was a loon as 1st lady. And that is pretty much indisputable. I don’t know alot about Elenor. We need to be objective on these boards and not let political party biases taint our opinions.

Regardless of who the presidential spouse is – woman or man – I want them to keep their nose out of the government’s business. Nancy Reagan was the worst of the worst when it came to that. Ann Romney seems to be a nice enough lady and from what I’ve seen of her – she is well spoken. But she needs to know her place – and that goes for all future presidential wives or husbands. A marriage license should not grant political power.

Great insight, Katy. It’s the Left that’s at war with women because it taxes and regulates into oblivion them, their husbands, their kids and their businesses (often started by the women themselves). How is it “good for women” for Obamacare to destroy women-run businesses by jacking up costs through the roof? Or Jerry Brown’s massive tax increase, which would do the same?

I know women who run small stores they started, while raising their kids and keeping a home. If Brown’s sales tax increase is passed, even though it’s “only” a quarter-cent more, it could kill their businesses.

Granted, Republicans aren’t much better. Schwarzenegger increased taxes a record $13 billion, including a half-cent sales tax increase. (Let’s just pass over that maid business.) And Republicans in the Legislature, with only a couple of exceptions, tried to stop Brown from killing redevelopment, which uses eminent domain to seize the property of small businesses, including the small shops of women.

Here’s an idea: Let’s cut taxes and regulations massively, return the money to women (and men), and let THEM live in freedom.
