I see the California Faculty Association (24k faculty, librarians, coaches, counselors, etc…) are casting votes at the college level about whether to strike to protest cutbacks and working conditions. They don’t want to give up their lofty salaries and pensions – so are now mad because they’re going to be saddled with personnel cutbacks. It’s either one or the other, folks. You can’t have both. You gotta pick one. Money or job security. Vote on that!

These people act like children. It’s as if they have no sense of reality. Like they consider their ilk the center of the universe. I have never witnessed this degree of self-indulgence by seemingly educated people. What don’t they understand about BROKE? Do they think we manufacture greenbacks from our hind ends? Hello?: The State does not own a printing press. Currency is finite. If the revenue is not there it simply means we have to get the financial hatchet out and start chopping. The taxpayers are maxed out. Please, college professors and support staff – GROW UP!

Since DeVore fled the state in the heat of the battle and turned his back on his constituents I think he should keep his nose out of California’s business. I see more op-ed’s from him these days than I did when he lived here. Fight illegal immigration in Texas, Chuck. Protect your own backyard. Shouting and waving your finger at us from across the road never solved anything.
