Todd's critics are alarmed, schocked, that he is an ambitious politician who uses elected office to attain higher office while forming political alliances with powerful interest groups and influencial people. And, like all politicians, Todd has opinions that he puts into actions, thus making enemies, angering opponents, along the way. Seems perfectly normal.

Todd is a champion of victims of crime, particularly murder, and, he is a fierce opponent of criminals and their supporters - defense lawyers, liberal legislators, fuzzy journalists - who consider criminal's rights more important than victims'. Todd stands with victims when others melt away. My wife and I thank him for his help in getting justice for our daughter 27 years after her murder. He will make a great DA. Go Todd!

Todd Spitzer didn't make any declaration about the next race at his election night event. That issue was covered a month ago in the O.C. Register's editorial on the race.

"Mr. Spitzer told us he would not run to challenge his former boss, District Attorney Tony Rackauckas, if he seeks reelection. Mr. Spitzer said he would run for D.A. if it were an "open seat."

What concerns me, is the bullying of Central Committee members, ousting them from office or humilating them in public, by his new ally, Scott Baugh. Until we see ethical leadership, I worry about allot more then pension reform, which is an important issue for us to address. People elect candidates, understanding, they intend to finish their terms. I am disappointed, to know this.

"It seems like only yesterday that Toddy boy was canned by the D.A. for unethical behavior"

I don't blame Spitzer for what happened to him at the DA's office. I have to be fair. I think he butted heads with the corner office alpha dog in a power play and got the heave-ho. Those things happen. I recall when one Asst. DA apparently slapped his wife around and nothing happened to him. So it all comes down to who the offender might be. Whatever happened between Spitzer and the overlords seemed to get blown way out of proportion.

I don't know why anyone who want to make a career out of politics. I guess you have to be wired for it. And that's no compliment, btw. Once you start to run with that crowd it must eat away at one's soul. I pity them as much as I despise them.

I think comment numero uno above nicely encapsulates the issue. Will denizens of The Orange Zone ever learn? It seems like only yesterday that Toddy boy was canned by the D.A. for unethical behavior. Now he is magically rehabilitated and yearns to be the taxpayers friend. Not! Like Mr. Greenhut opined yesterday, don't get between Spitzer and a TV camera unless you've got comprehensive health insurance.

Use your common sense here.

Spitzer will need public safety's support to become the next DA.

So do you think Spitzer is going to screw them with pension reform.

SMARTEN UP!!!

If anyone gets screwed here it will be John Q. Public Taxpayer.

Mark my words!

“Spitzer said he planned to focus on public pension reform as supervisor. He also confirmed that he plans to run for Orange County district attorney if the office is open in 2014.”

Hardly a doubt in my mind that Spitzer has already talked to his buddies in OC public safety and is coming up with a plan to fool the people into accepting a pension reform program that looks effective on paper - yet is just another whitewash that will accomplish nothing to reduce costs. He will probably make it extremely complicated and hard for Joe6Pack to figure out. I predict that he will steer clear of any defined contribution mandate. Nothing will change - it will be defined pensions (minimum 2.7%@55) which is 81% of an employee's final pay @ age 55.

I don't trust Spitzer. He speaks with forked tongue. Once you are in bed with public safety you are in bed with them for life.

WATCH FOR THE HEAD FAKE AND THE END AROUND!!!! Spitzer specializes in that!

DON'T BE FOOLED!
