Having said that, I still don’t understand how this helps the County. What’s in it for them? How does this increase home values or property tax revenues? Giving thousands of underwater homeowners the incentive to sell and move out of the 909 land quagmire will drive housing prices down even more. It seems like the primary beneficiary of this scam is the hedge fund greedbags reaping a fat middle man profit. When a market based economic system becomes unmoored from moral hazard this is what happens. Crony Capitalism will be the death of this fools republic, just wait.
