Just another taxpayer swindle by a deceitful and hypocritical governor. Allegedly, the State is bankrupt yet Jerry B. advocates floating bonds to jumpstart Bullet Train construction because the Federal Government had a time limit on Fed money. Meanwhile, while political stooges like State Assemblyman Mike Fuerer tout jobs for Californians, nobody reveals that each job created will cost taxpayers more than $1 million. And, while the Train-to-Nowhere is presented as the answer to vehicle congestion in Los Angeles and San Francisco, the train will not connect with either city for at least 25 years. Meanwhile, California plans to commence construction on a rail line from Merced to Fresno. Wow! That will really solve traffic problems in California's big cities. This would be funny if it was a Saturday Night Live skit but unfortunately it is reality and tragic.

Rex:
I hope you are right. I hope the tax increase fails. I hope 32 passes too. But the amount of money the guvment unions can throw at this increase is astounding and their message partially honest. Most of the voters face a small tax increase. And the rich aren't gonna pay it either. They are the most mobile and are headed for the border as we speak, along with all their jobs. This tax increase is gonna be like the Illinois tax increase last year which led to more deficits this year.
Back to the train.
As it is proposed, it violates the amendment it is associated with. The train is supposed to go over 200mph, by law. And is supposed to get from LA to SF in a few hours. The current proposal the train would take all day and never reach 200mph and defeat its real purpose. And a huge % of funding was supposed to come from private sources, not a penny of which has shown up. You can bet there will be scads of lawsuits against the train that have standing and merit. And the Dem appointed judges may just side with Moonbeam on all of them, including the enviornmental groups.
Even the fine liberals here don't support this obvious train wreck.
