That basketball star who is the mayor of Sac town made no effort to save Campbell's. Neither did guv Moonbeam. Steinberg said people are eating less soup.
If you looked at all those workers getting those pink slips from Campbell's, you will see a majority of people of color. Those were good jobs for minorities.
But I'd guess each of them will get an Obama phone instead of a job.
Tom Joad's gonna be on the last freight out of Kalifornia.

REPLY TO KAREN MEYERS-VANCE: SADLY, THIS IS NO LONGER A QUESTION OF INTELLIGENCE. THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS WHEN THE PERCENTAGE OF THE POPULATION THAT ARE TAKERS EXCEED THE PERCENTAGE WHO ARE MAKERS. CALIFORNIA HAS 10% OF THE U.S. POPULATION, BUT 30% OF ALL THOSE ON WELFARE. ADD IN THE OTHERS DEPENDENT ON THE VARIOUS LEVELS OF GOV'T (INCLUDING BLOATED CITY, COUNTY AND STATE WORKERS)AND YOU HAVE A PERMANENT MAJORITY OF LEECHES ON THE SYSTEM. THIS IS WHY THE MAKERS ARE VOTING WITH THEIR FEET, CITIES ARE GOING BANKRUPT ONE AFTER THE OTHER, AND GOV'T SERVICES ARE TAKING A BACK SEAT TO BLOATED PENSIONS AND BENEFITS OF THE RETIREES.

"Soon the only jobs left in California will be for 180-IQ computer geeks in Silicon Valley, Hollywood producers, government workers, drug dealers and moving companies."

John, you forgot to mention all low wage burger flipper and toilet cleaner jobs that can't be outsourced. There will be plenty of menial low wage jobs for half educated third world peasant immigrants. The rich environmentalist elites will have an army of poor, ignorant immigrants to boss around and underpay.

Typically a company will not update a plant it is planning to close. The carbon trading setup is another tax in a state where it is already expensive to operate. A company planning for the future, which Cambells does very well, would look at these facts.

The Comcast call centers was a big deal when they opened. The politicians were falling all over themselves taking credit when no credit was due them.

The fact that the high cost of doing business here is taken out of the equation because a politician was upset shows that we are doomed when the facts are ignored in such an important turn of events.

Where are the liberals? 5000 jobs lost easily affects spouses and dependants as well. 5000 lost jobs affects 20,000 people. That would be the population of a moderatley sized city in Cluckafornia placed into depression.
