At the initial journey of the 200-mph California bullet train, Senate President Pro Tem Darrell Steinberg, former Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger and Gov. Jerry Brown are sitting in a luxury car, sipping Napa Valley chardonnay. The train starts, lurches a foot, then stops.
An hour later, Steinberg gets up and says, “I’m a former union activist and closely allied with the public-employee unions running the train. I’ll get them to start the train again.” He leaves.
Half an hour he returns and says, “It’ll start moving soon. We’ll be zooming ahead at 200 mph while creating jobs!”
Two hours later, the train is still standing. Schwarzenegger stands up and says, “You are all girly-men. I vill order der workers to start der train!”
Half an hour later Arnold returns and says, “Der Zug vill move now! 322 kph!”
Two hours later the train still hasn’t moved. Jerry Brown stands up, pulls the shades down over the windows, and says, “My bullet train now is accelerating to 200 mph and saving the environment.”
