This article is spot-on. I am a freedom loving conservative and this is exactly why I did not vote for Lungren. I didn’t vote for Bera either – I just left that section blank. I may have to live under the police state, but don’t expect me to vote for it!

My views about Dan Lungren are forever tainted by his horrendous, message-free campaign for Governor in 1998. Lungren lost by 20 points to someone who was so mediocre he was recalled five years later. It was that election, not Prop. 187 in 1994, that spun California into the fiscal disaster of today. Then Lungren decided to run for Congress again in a different part of the state. He’s been vulnerable for a while and this election may be the end.

Dan Lungren is a gun grabber and in late 1990s administered/supervised one of the largest gun takings in modern US history – even surpassing Dianne Feinstein’s handgun ban of 1979 in San Francisco.

For a single-issue gunnie voter, there is no difference btwn Bera and Lungren, and thus it will be ever so sweet to see that statist grabber kicked out.
