Forget about this MACRO stuff….worry about yourself and your family…if your so into it….join the military….really do something good besides hiding behind momma’s skirts or your wife’s apron….or your steel door in your underground bunker….

You have to take the contrarian view if you want to be optimistic. California sees itself aa a trend setter so why not lead the nation in the highest taxes?

Chicago Illinois also leads the nation in the murder rate. Why capitulate that title to them? We should lead in that category and for good measure, take the lead in the national crime rate too. There’s other categories we should go after also. Like poverty, political corruption, mortgage default rates, joblessness, disease, etc.

This is California and we should lead by example.

Regardless of whether or not California’s high taxes cause out-migration is secondary. After all, how many people are trapped in their existing California homes because they own more on their mortgage than they can make selling their house.

The bigger question is whether California’s existing tax rates are fair and competitive. Let’s look at how California’s tax rates compare against those of the other 49 states. Let’s look at what effect Proposition 30 has on those rates. Only one state is ALREADY at the top end of all three measures. You guess which one.
