"It’s a sad comment on American journalism"

Yes, but more fundamentally it's a sad comment on the stupefying ignorance and gullibility of the American people, large numbers of whom seem to swallow this partisan claptrap as if it were the word of Almighty God Herself.

Using the Clintonian hack Steponallofus as an example is quite apt, but consider this amazing fact - Chris "thrill going up my leg" Matthews is actually described by his employers at MSNBC as a journalist! It takes unlimited amounts of chutzpah to do that.

Remember only a few short weeks ago when ABC Snooze chief investigative reporter Lyin' Brian Ross reported that the Aurora, Co. mass murderer might be a Tea Party activist because someone in the Colorado Tea Party had the same name? Only a terse, mealy mouthed apology was issued by the network after that whopper, then it was back to business as usual. No suspension, demotion or termination for Mr. Ross of course.

Anyone who still trusts the establishment news media is just a self deluded idiot. Too bad there are so many of them.
