Republicans on CWD as a lot are not showing concern for human beings.

This election the needy spoke...and the minimum wage doubled with cementing of Obamacare in employer payrolls, for they think someone will pay for their care now.....

A dependency society is cruel..it will include lots of layoffs....and new hires will find low skills, age, dumb degrees, poor grooming, exotic behaviors will lead to continued sitting on the couch.

Republicans best get into turning the little people in positive directions, not handouts, or they will continue to sit in the political corners of our Republic.

One other note on NotClauswitz's profound statement, the privilege few will be dictating to the proletariat as there is no longer a challenger. None!

For some reason, after reading your take on the eventual demise of California, I am reminded of George Washington's farewell address published in 1796! He warned of such goings-on with too much party loyalty and should be avoided. That the people must remain true to their values. Anyway, its a great read and was, in his great wisdom, a visionary!

Dave, the diversity of CA is one thing that makes it special. Who wants one state that is all conservative, and another state that is all liberal. Not me--I would fight tooth and nail against such a proposal.

It has become evident that there is now two separate political geographical areas in California. I too believe it time to split the state into two states. Los Angeles, San Francisco and most coastal area hold liberal beliefs, while the rest of the state is more conservative.

CA Republicans have for along time only been window-dressing, a class of Nomenkaltura in the One Party State who take the blame for being "obstruictionist" the same way "Big Business" or "Big Oil" is demonized for thwarting the Will of the Party. They take the blame and still get to keep their perks - they get paid-off to be Emmanuel Goldstein to the Party's Big Brother.
But the serious intellectual problems with a One-Party state is that Party members don't evolve intelligence, instead they become dull and stupid - as evidenced by the inept and poorly written laws that California Legislature constantly produces, full of holes and legal gobbledygook.
Nothing challenges the Party members to be smart and excell, or even how to compete, since they don't compete against external concepts or ideas but only against each other in an echo-chamber purity-test. It's not creative or inventive except in a Machiavellian way, they are lazy and shallow and only do just enough - and they come up with bad ideas just to impress the Central Committee to whom they are indebted for their jobs.
To rise to Party prominence is to recite the delusional propaganda and slogans and toe the line, a test of One-Party Catechism and playing favorites with the Central Committee. A fish rots from the head down, and that's what Socialism always produces, rotten fish that stink: and the CA Legislature is a perfect example.

Lets not forget, there is no more money left to steal. The Dems can raise taxes all they want. That doesn't mean they will get any more money. That has been shown time and time again.
The only way they get any more money is from Obama and the repubs still hold the house. They may cave a bit on taxes, but on giving giveaways to Kali and Illinois, I think not.
Again, congrats to the libs. Now you have to fix the problems, no excuses. The republicans don't have near enough power to stop you.
