I am looking for a very smart & aggressive Lawyer.I asked PG & E to come to my location that I rent to verify my meters for 9 years because of my huge power bill. They have come out a few times and assured me everything was working perfectly.Last month I had another inspector come out and again he said everything was fine but showed me how to use their website for power usage.I went back through every month this year and notice my Landlord had gone on Vacation for 9 days and my power usage dropped more than half in that period.I contacted PG & E and begged them again to come out which they agreed, the inspector what flabbergasted and said she had never seen such a thing. She instantly told me that PG & E would only reimburse me for 3 years of over payment.I was shocked at such a nonchalant attitude as I have been ripped off for the last 10 years. ( I have had bills of $1800.00 per month)I am looking for a Lawyer that knows the civil codes for this type of abuse. I want every penny & damages. Joe 925-525-2614

"But PG&E doesn’t even blink when it receives tax increases because the costs are passed on to the ratepayer."

Then I think you see the real thing behind the curtain. That is, counties can in effect raise taxes on the general public, without a politically thorny publicly-held vote regarding those taxes, by laundering them through PG&E in the form of franchise fees. CPUC really represents the counties, not the taxpayers. PG&E goes along with the whole scheme because it doesn't really hurt them.

But, of course, in the long run if the corporations price gouge and screw the consumer, it's always the government's fault.
