This is a totally disingenuous by Boxer and Feinstein. They already know why gas prices are so high in California and they also know that Californians are so ignorant and stupid that they'll buy this so-called "investigation" as if it's going to make a damn bit of difference in the price and availability of gasoline. It won't but don't tell the ignoramuses in California that.

What the point in complaining about high taxes, high gas prices, rising food costs, high crime rates, etc., etc. when we keep voting for the very same politicians who are responsible for the problems to begin with? We deserve the politicians we vote for and all the negative consequences they wrought upon us.

Boxer and Feinstein's investigation will amount to nothing more than a fat paycheck, courtesy of the US tax payers, for a few consulting firms (aka, lobbyists) from which a percentage of the payout will make its way back into Boxer and Feinstein's campaign coffers.

When the Cheveron fired happened the other refinery postponed planned maintenance outages for as long as they could. As the planned outages were set back they continued to produce fuel at lower rates because they couldn't produce higher rates until after the maintenace occured.

Reactor catalysts need to be replaced, leaking pumps need to be taken out of service, old pipes need replacing and more. Just wait till two more refining companies leave Foolafornia in the next few years.

You aint seen nothing yet...

Another "probe", "investigation"...I have seen 15 or more of these going back 35 years, nothing will happen, just like the other 15 when nothing happened.

We have 4 major oil companies who are gaming the system in an oligarchy, that is the problem, when Standard Oil was busted in 1910 it was split in 34 different companies- do the math of then vs now.
