California overwhelmingly just voted to re-elect President Barack Obama. Shouldn’t the state get a little somethin-somethin in return? Especially because California is teetering on the verge of becoming a giant Detroit. With three cities already in bankruptcy, and others on the edge, California could use a federal bailout.
Detroit City Councilwomen JoAnn Watson knows the score, and plans on bringing home the bacon.
Watson said Tuesday that because the citizens of Detroit supported President Barack Obama in last month’s election, the president needed to bailout the financially destitute city.
“Our people in an overwhelming way supported the re-election of this president and there ought to be a quid pro quo and you ought to exercise leadership on that,” said Watson. “Of course, not just that, but why not?” Fox 2 News Headlines reported.
“After the election of Jimmy Carter, the honorable Coleman Alexander Young, he went to Washington, D.C. He came home with some bacon,” said Watson[1]. “That’s what you do.”
Apparently, 75 percent of Detroit, Michigan’s Wayne County voters[2] voted for Obama. Only 60.3 percent of Californians voted to re-elect Obama, but the state’s 55 electoral votes sealed his win.
We deserve some bacon. This is the Democrat-way. “That’s what you do.”
