					<description><![CDATA[Yes, agreed 100%.  I routinely take the Amtrak San Joaquins from Lodi-Stockton to Bakersfield, where they typically run 75-80mph along the open rails outside the city.  These trains typically sell out during peak times(Especially the early morning trains) but from $39-$68 one way depending on demand, time, and how soon before boarding you purchase, I can&#039;t drive it for that price, especially when I&#039;m doing a quick turn for a one-day meeting.  I&#039;m a firm believer that the existing Amtrak California can be quite easily streamlined and expanded with the addition of more trains, more train cars, and additional trackage which is reasonably available.  All for a fraction of pennies on the dollar for the costs that the HSR dream has already incurred.]]></description>
