Have you noticed that these mass shootings at public schools increased after the 1995 Gun-Free School Zone Act? Passed with good intentions, banning guns would supposedly make schools safer. Well it has done exactly the opposite.
1995 Gun Free School Zone Act
Date Killed Location
12/1/97 3 Heath High School Paducah KY
3/24/98 5 Middle School Jonesboro, AR
5/21/98 2 Thurston Springfield. OR
4/20/99 13 Columbine Littleton, CO
3/21/05 6 Red Lake Minnesota
10/2/06 3 Amish Lancaster, PA
4/16/07 32 Virginia Tech
2/27/12 3 Chardon High Chardon, OH
12/14/12 26 Sandy Hook Elementary Newton, CT
I believe that if we eliminate the more than 20 million semi-automatic rifles it will not prevent mass shootings. I believe that if we eliminate the hundreds of millions of magazines with more than ten rounds, it will not prevent mass shootings. I believe that if we then eliminate all semi-automatic handguns, it will not prevent mass shootings. I believe that if we eliminate all shotguns it will not prevent mass shootings.
The only way to stop mass shootings and not leave our citizenry defenseless is to eliminate all “gun free zones” that do not have a police presence. And have several teachers in every school trained and certified by tactical police to use small totally concealable handguns with laser grips that project a bright dot at the point of impact. If body armor is a factor then the dot goes on the head. The alternative is to continue to blame everything except our failed gun control policies that prevent self-defense and then experience more carnage despite ineffective gun control laws.
Today we have one on-duty policeman for every 2000 of us. One in thirty adults has a concealed carry license. Concealed carry is a much larger deterrent to violent crime than is law enforcement. http://orcosportsmans.com/Pages/ConcealedCarry.htm

We have all seen the propaganda machine harp day in and day out on the Sandy Hook Elementary School shootings that occurred on December 14; and, what was their main pitch? You got it; GUN CONTROL. Well, folks, Connecticut has one of the strictest gun control laws in the nation (California, New York and Illinois being three more); yet, twenty children 7 and 6 years old and six adults were gunned down on school grounds by a mentally disturbed 20-year old. Suffice it to say, these laws did not work; and they won't. Why? Criminals and others who should never own guns are going to find a way to obtain them - through the black market or through theft, if necessary. So, where does this leave the law-abiding citizen adversely affected by strict gun control laws, eh? I'll tell you; that citizen will be totally vulnerable, and, maybe dead. Had any - or all - of the six adults in the school been armed, this massacre would have been avoided; so, state and local authorities must bear some responsibility for this horrific crime - by failing to protect the students from such violence.

To answer the question why do gang bangers hold their pistols side ways is because that is the way it was in the box. Fortunately it is not a very accurate way to shoot although they do kill way too many simply by just spraying lead.
I grew up in in a time when almost every pickup had a gun in a rack on the back window. You could just walk into a store that sold guns and buy one, no waiting period, no background check. It was also a time when there was no road rage, no mass shootings, and most importantly no drugs. I started carrying a knife when I was six years old every where I went, I even had teachers ask if any one had a knife she could borrow. Try that today. In Mexico guns and knives are illegal, so it should be one of the worlds safest countries.
I am constantly asking my self what has change since 1941 when I was born.
And I keep coming up with a one word answer "RESPECT" today there is no respect of God, parents, country, oneself, or ones fellow man. Even the elected officials have no respect for the Constitution which they swear to uphold.
Yes, there are still some that know what respect is, but we are few in numbers.
Romney was only being honest when he said he could not get 47% of the voters.
They are the pigs feeding at the public through, and 53% of the voters didn't have the courage or intelligence to say we will no longer be disrespected.
In a span of only 70 years I have watched America go from the greatest, freest country in the world, to one with no core values, and ever decreasing freedom.
I have a gun because I am not going to let some low life terrorize me and the constitution say I can keep one.

I appreciate this article and everyone's comments. I don't own any guns and I'm going through a lot of red tape to get a legit business going in our state. If we consider all things, gun confiscation (or reduced rights) is simply the beginning of something else that I believe most Californians (and Americans) will be highly un happy. If we consider history for a moment, there was the burning of the parliament building in Berlin in the early 1930s. German citizens cried for a solution. The Brown Shirts. Shortly, the nazis took formal power. How is Sacramento or Washington any different in its overall approach then the Nazi party was 80 years ago? While my heart is sadden with the newton massacre, we the people need to look past the "lone gun man" theory. We need to tell Sacramento "NO" on this legislation. We need to tell Washington "NO" on assault weapons ban being resurrected from the Clinton era. We need to send a message as voters and tax payers we will not lose our rights because of the rise of the brown shirts - American style. After all, Obama made that clear in his speech for his first term. He called them a civilian force. So was the Stasi (in the beginning).

Wake up and defend your rights before they finish taking all of them away.

Gangbangers often dress with their pants half way down their asses and tend to have many tattoos, and many have shaved heads. Gangbangers have a strange dialect, and writing where it is hard to understand what they are talking about.
At times gangbangers aim to kill rival gangbangers but with their elementary school education, and aim their guns sideways (which looks gay) they miss and hit a poor bystander.

BobA:

Yes, in order to keep the public from coming together to protect individual rights,i.e. the Fourth Amendment, the RAGWUS must keep the man behind the curtain hidden by creating hysteria among the proletariat class.

We have the war on racisim, drugs, crime of all kinds, but it all comes down to a war against the individual citizen, as seen in the video I posted, citizens that come in contact with the appointed LE RAGWUS workers, where citizens are being taken advantage of by the system, and then further abused in the PIC!!

We can't be the land of the free and home of the brave while having 30% of the worlds prisoners, with only 5% of the worlds population.

The PIC has a huge propaganda machine that is being used to enslave millions of citizens for its workers own enrichment. And by enrichment I mean, from the city cop, jailers, vendors, judges, prosecuting and defense lawyers, probation and parole, and of course the prisons.

If Americans are ever shamed or browbeat into giving up their right to "keep and bear arms" then the enslavement will be complete! :)

Donkey:

In America today, group rights trumps individual rights and if you're not a member of some aggrieved group you're own your own. Some groups are more equal than others and nowadays, rights are prioritized by ethnicity, gender, sexual preference, political affiliation and income.

Child molesters and sexual predators haven't yet figured out how to band together as a voting block and demand their rights. The same applies to the other criminal trades. The mob did by forming unions and you see where they are today.

Keep in mind that politicians can smell votes like sharks can smell blood. Chum the waters with enough votes and politicians will come in numbers and go into a feeding frenzy just like sharks!!

No one is safe from the LE RAGWUS. The fourth Amendment no longer has any relavance to the protection of the individual citizen. :)

So, if CA has all these gun laws, then how come there are so many drive by shootings? How do the shooters get the guns? Also, in the MTV videos or where ever, why do they hold the guns out sideways, instead of straight up and down like the cowboys did? Also, while on the subject, how is it that every 14 - 18 year old gang member, with a full body tattoo of some kind, can have an expensive gun, yet live in a ghetto on the gubbermint tab? So then during a full gun ban, I would then look out my window, and admire the stainless steel 45 auto with the pearl handles my neighbor is holding sideways and firing into my house front door, and at the same time I would wish I had not had to give up my own guns? I am currently practicing holding my gun on it's side, and pointing the spread fingers of my other hand down. I am just about getting that, but I don't know why I am doing it.
After that I will get into my 64 chevrolet (which by the way does not bounce up and down) and drive off into the sunset. I don't really "get it" but I am trying at least.
