You are again taking some of my comments out of context, the $68K AVERAGE CalTURDS pension was for 30 years or more of service and retired since 2010- that is a FACT.

Gov employees can and do “retire” at age 50 with FULL/90% benefits.

The troughers do get their pensions, including the “$100K club”, for life.

Eucation for a cop/FF job IS a GED.
Teachers do get annual “step” raises for 10-15, even 20 years.

SB400 did increase pensions by 50%.

Hey, truth hurts buddy, but copy and paste of my comments won’t change the facts, or your scam.

Some (1%) government workers get a 50% increase in pension formula:

“SB400 INCREASED PENSIONS BY FIFTY PERCENT!!!”

Some (1%) of workers are able to retire at 50 with 90% of final pay:

“GOVERNMENT WORKERS GET FULL RETIREMENT AT FIFTY!!!”

Some (2%) get pensions over $100,000 a year. 

“GOVERNMENT WORKERS GET $100,000 FOR LIFE!!!”

For all NEW government retirees with OVER THIRTY YEARS service, the average pension is $68,000.

“THE AVERAGE GOVERNMENT PENSION IS $68,000!!!

The MINIMUM requirement for police academy is a GED. 

“EIGHTY PERCENT OF POLICE OFFICERS HAVE ONLY A GED (or high school diploma)!!!!”

”AND ALL TEACHERS GET EIGHT TO TEN PERCENT STEP RAISES ….EVERY YEAR!!!!!”

Those are the stats, and have been fairly consistent.

80% covers GED or HS diploma. Large metro area LE covers 75% of the 330K cops in the state, like LAPD/SD. The physical test amounts to running a mile in less than 10 minutes (even an obese hippos coud do that) and the written test is a 9th grade reading/comprehension test. So much for your claims about the rigorous testing process.

Why don’t you tell us how LAPD Chief Charlie Beck got FIVE family members hired at LAPD seesaw??????? The odds of thta happening without it being foxed are about 10 million to one

Why would I be in on any kind of scam? I was miscellaneous, and I had nothing to do with Human Resources or Public Safety. But, I was there 40 years and knew scores of PD and FF employees–none were relatives of others on the same force, that I am aware of. So stop accusing me of things where you have no evidence and don’t know what in the heck you are talking about.

It doesn’t take just a clean record and a GED Rex. The applicants must also pass written and physical agility tests; submit to psychological testing; take a lie-detector test; and make it through academy, where most recruits fail. Maybe you weren’t as qualified as you thought, Rex.
