A front page story described physical abuse of 5-year old special need child by a Brentwood Union School District teacher, resulting in a $950,000 award to the childs family. Instead of firing this teacher, she was mearly transferred to another class. The superintendent said the district “pursued all available measures to hold the employee accountable”. “Teacher dismissals are very complex, very cumbersome and it takes a lot of time.” The article described other incidents of abuse. Contrast this with the swift firing of the teacher fired for lewd behavior. It doesn’t seem equitable.

Of course not! I was just trying to make the case, that such behavior, whatever occupation the perpetrator comes from, is not usual for the occupation. Bad people are in all occupations. What responsible teacher would moonlight as a porn actor–or worse!

Consider the classroom disruption with her students looking at her porn during class on their phones. She will never escape it. P.S. her porn was especially perverted. Do you want your 12-14 year olds watching it?

So what else is new. We have Catholic priests, who are supposed to be agents of God raping kids. Its not the occupation–its the people. I was raised around Catholic priests and nuns–I do not know that any of them were anything but good. I was public-schooled for 14 years among teachers that I respected and they were all good, as far as I know. I imagine there are a few op-ed writers who have dark sides, too.

I have been reviewing this case this morning (including the porn) and I highly doubt the Superior Court will side with the Commission. The Commission ALWAYS finds against the teacher, for liability purposes, then it is up to an admin law judge (awful too) to fix it, and then to the Superior Court, Court of Appeal, CA Supreme Court.
