We left and moved to Texas. My community in Houston is about 50% professionals from California. I just shake my head. We get together, laugh, and call ourselves “economic refugees.”

Not the number of millionaires leaving. Sure, it is the truly wealthy like Phil who can up and move, unlike small businesses who can’t. And many of the rich will move.
But the far bigger dollar amount to worry about is the investment income being spent in other states or other countries.
