With the reduction in sunspots, there is much less UV energy hitting the thermosphere. So, it is little wonder that it finally collapsed. It is rebuilding itself as some sunspots have emerged. The greater concern is how a possible new Maunder Minimum with several decades of a spotless sun will affect this layer. I wonder if this is a reason why these minimums are so cold.

Global warming is the natural process by which the average yearly temperature of the earth gradually raises. Yes, humans do affect global warming, but barely. The problem is that environmentalists use crappy equipment (home thermometers, for example, rather than the far far more precise weather balloons used by legit scientists), and think we have a huge effect on global warming. Most environmentalists don't really have or use very accurate equipment or methods, so they come up with skewed ideas.
This is basically because no one or two people know exactly how to research all of the details needed to study the environment, you need large groups of scientists that study in many different fields to truely record accurate information.

For what it's worth:

Even if global warming was real (it isn't), how is handing over billions of dollars to the government who in turn will hand it out to their crony capitalist friends going to fix the problem?

All that's going to happen is a further concentration of wealth into the hands of a few while the rest of us will get a lot poorer. Al Gore is a case in point.

The Pope of global warming has become a very very wealthy man selling his global warming snake oil. Others see how he enriched himself and now they want a piece of the action.

If anthropomorphic global warming is real, then the only meaningful solution is to de-industrialize the world, kill of 80% of the world's population, forgo all modern technology and return to agrarian societies.

Anything less is not a serious effort and total a waste of everyone's time and money.

@ Ted Steele, Grand Inquisitor- That's Mr. little buddy to you.

@ StevefromExcremento, "But when 95 percent of all climate scientists say that global warming is real"

For the umpteenth time, valid science is not a function of consensus. Stop confusing science with a vote for home coming queen. Just like you confuse an AR-15 with a "military grade" weapon like the M-16. Someday Steve you will present us with an actual fact here, but we are still waiting for one. And speaking of facts, where in the world did you get the "95 percent of all climate scientists say that global warming is real" propaganda from? Care to give us a source for that or did you just make it up on the fly?
