our very own constitution of America was written by and for the people.we diden't ask for permission it was done. so why do we have to ask anyone for approval what America does about terrorist or have anyone question the validity of said crimes.president Bush acted in the only way he could under the circumstances.too many critics.Russia and the U.S.A. were having problems, the Rosenbergs got the death penalty for spying.why would anyone want to give a free pass to terrorist who came inside U.S. territory and killed 3.000 Americans in a matter of hours?

I didn't think last week's piece was that mild, and not at the double standard + hypocrisy level at the NYT (Senate filibuster, debt ceiling, recess appts.) Chris' chronology implies a gap in criticizing the US Gov't's approach to the WoT from 2007 to 2013, except for some recommendations in early 2009 (not exactly embraced in Obama's first term). Not sure how accurate that is, but if the LAT editorial board waited until His Majesty was safely re-elected to examine his war on terror record, it's no cause for comfort about their ethical commitments. 'Course during the campaign neither side except for Ron Paul indicated anything other than a fourth term of GWB's approach to terrorism.
