We&#039;ve all seen the surveys.......Barely half of graduating seniors know our first President (fittingly , I suppose, that this story appears on President&#039;s Day), one-third think Russia or Germany were belligerents in the Civil War, etc.

I doubt if any major K-12 subject has suffered more from the ravages of political correctness in the past generation than History, and especially American History.  The under-30 crowd almost universally believes:  &quot;If it happened before 1990....who cares?&quot;
