When we were kids we used to ride mini bikes up and down the LA river and the San Gabriel river, both dry as bones. The cops would chase us and we saw where the Terminator 2 movie got its idea. I think the cops loved chasing us as much as we loved runnin from them.
The movie Chinatown was so real in the corruption of the system, and importance of runoff water in SoCal. Now they wouldn't dare title a movie with such a 'raciest' name. But the end of the movie, where John Huston 'gets the girl', and the final words were so classic. " Let it go Jake, its Chinatown."
LA's new name, Chinatown.
