CalWatch: would you instead support $1-per-hour minimum wage? The fact is that basic livable expenses cannot be supported by our current wage standards. It’s time for Cali to take the lead in establishing decent and fair wage legislation. The nation too.

Just another one-sided article. Never mind including the study that shows San Francisco’s raise in minimum wage did NOT result in increased unemployment. And how convenient throwing Nevada in the mix, but miserably failing to even mention Washington or Oregon higher minimum wages and lower unemployment. Oh yes, Nevada, Arizona, Washington and Oregon have already tied minimum wages to cost of living increases. Spin all you want – but this nation (and Cali) will benefit from higher minimum wages and inflation indexing.

i’m sure some of us could do her job.

good point on the guy making $10 hour. they now have to wait longer to get a raise.

The title of this article, “Pelosi leads charge on minimum wage hike” sounds like it was from a Pelosi press release. If she were a true leader, she would lead by example and give up her $160+K salary and work instead at minimum wage which is probably much closer to what she is worth. Typical politician, all talk, no action. 8-(

It’s worse than you think. QE infinity means the fed prints $85 billion dollars in new money every month for the foreseeable future. To finance the federal deficit. The federal government’s unfunded liabilities are is at $122 trillion dollars and growing. By 2016, the national debt will exceed $20 trillion dollars.

Despite what’s reported in the news media, CBO and Treasury dept. FY 2012 report that the US spent over $3 trillion dollars last year and that number continues to grow. The bottom line is that the US has more debt than all the countries of the world combined. That can not go on forever.

Raising the minimum wage only insures that the US economy collapse all that much sooner as more people become unemployed, companies go out of business and the government prints and spend ever increasing amounts of money.

The problem is most people can’t fathom what that portends for the future of America. The collapse is coming. The French revolution will seem like a minor skirmish in comparison. Millions of Americans will perish in the violence which I think has been the plan all along.

The Eugenicists believe that the world could use 5-6 billion less people. The environmentalist and the global warmists all concur with that goal. Nothing would please them more than to see the US come to an end.

Combine this with the printing of inflated money and the worth of the dollar will fall even faster. I noticed last weekend that the cost of everything at the Home Depot has risen by a lot, and most everything is imported from China. We are going to all be living in poverty soon if common sense people do not get control of the reigns of power in this nation. 🙂

The cost of goods and services increases with minimum wage increases. But not all businesses can pass increases on to the consumer. When they can’t, the increases eat into their bottom line preventing profit, reinvestment in the business, and the hiring of more employees. It’s a vicious cycle.
