“Bridging the digital divide in California: How to Steal More Money from Middle Class People."

This program, as you say, is a landing pad for tax dollars. Just like the new Gas Company tax to help poor people pay less for their gas. And the other utility taxes as well.

Note well that no accounting is ever provided for these programs. IMO the money is just hoovered up by the politicians to use as they want.

I have dial up service at 9.99 per month. I can't download any videos, that would take a day for a 5 minute video. But I have freedom. I can surf where I want.
If the govt pays for your internet access, they can and will censor where you can surf. And I'm not talking about porn.
A man went to a coffee shop in a mall where there was free wifi. He tried to log into his own site, a conservative blog. The free service gave him a message that his website was banned for being a 'hate' site. I went there ( I forgot the site other wize I would post it) and it was edgy, but not hate full or raciest by any means. He simply talked about illegal, mass immigration, and it's effects on his community. No name calling, no calls for mass deportation. Just secure to border. That is something the writers on this site write about often.
If the govt pays for your internet service, don't expect to be able to access this site.
