I totally agree with this article. I imagine the area will only get worst when the arena is built – yay! more welfare moms and south sac thugs taking light rail over to loiter, shoplift, and mug. Pretty. Perhaps Steve would like a WIC office located in the arena or close by? Just another unrealistic liberal advocating for more welfare for those who choose not to work. I have very little sympathy for both.

Sure, I agree the state should “promote the general welfare”. But nowadays it’s “promote welfare” as their tax and borrow and spend policies only benefit the lower half of the population. Isn’t that why CA is failing?

Middle class people and businesses in CA are leaving because they can’t make it here! Soon there will be no none left to promote welfare.

Those roof top terraces will have views of all the drug deals, the robberies and the hookers having sex in the ally’s.
A cop friend of mine( a female gay cop ) told me this true story. On bike patrol, she went up an ally in the middle of the day and caught this hooker servicing a john in the ally. They were doing it doggy style while the john was lighting up a crack pipe in mid stroke. As the cop got off her bike and told them to ‘break it up’, the hooker and the john both turned to her and asked her for a little more time, they were almost done.
You can’t make this stuff up.
I figure why not set up chairs and charge admission.

I know, you “conservatives” believe that anyone who is unemployed, who is sick or disabled, or who can’t feed his or her family is to blame for their own plight and doesn’t deserve our support.

First passage in the Constitution says that the government should “promote the general welfare”. General means all of us, Katy, not just the well-to-do or well connected.

You’re turning the phrase “compassionate conservative” into an oxymoron.

free broadband and cell phones for those people. that is the answer.
then they can all stay inside their govt housing and talk to each other in the comfort of their own sofa.

and we can wave to them from the high speed rail which will be done soon.

They are emulating Los Angeles. Government-funded housing, food, welfare — and, most importantly, votes. The city becomes a Democrat stronghold, and the cycle of politicians with power and people in poverty continues forever.

Soon LA and Sacto will be Detroit. Downtown L.A. now has a super-TB bug, tho. How is Sacto gonna beat that?
