The most scary thing that occurred to me recently, was that Pravda, the old soviet newspaper of lies, now practices better journalism than any of Amerika's major newspapers. There are a hundred ways to 'push' a poll to get the results you want.

Katy, I was thinking the exact same thing when reading this article. I don't know who this John Meyers clown is, but it is ridiculously naive to think that polling organizations or think tanks are "non-partisan". They all make that claim to maintain tax exempt status but in reality they have ideological bias and a partisan axe to grind. I feel sorry for the dunces who get sucked in to the non-partisan label and end up trusting PPIC or any other mainstream polling operation. I'm sure the New York Times and MSNBC make the same ridiculous claim but who can believe them?

Let's start with the story fallacy about the PPIC - there is nothing non-partisan about the PPIC. They regularly work in tandem with the majority party at the Capitol.

The Legislative Analyst's Office is having a heard time these days being non-partisan. The PPIC claims not to have a political bias, but it is abundantly clear with the loaded questions in their surveys that the group has a strong and biased political outlook. Questions in their surveys always appear geared to eliciting the responses supporting Democratic policies.
