The thousands of acres required for wind power is not dedicated land. It is still used for farming(minus the access routes) and provides an income source for the owners of that farmland.

Nevermind your petty concerns regarding nuclear power … let’s talk about the lack of reservoirs and hydro-electric due to the same mentality that has stalled more nuclear power for this state .. and let’s also not forget that due to the same whack jobs, these nuclear plants in SoCal now have to use fresh water for cooling to save the marine life (95% of all fish who go through the existing cooling system make it through with no ill effects by the way) at a cost of 4.5B per plant.

9B to save some fish and that also means closing down all pet-coke plants in the state tied to the grid and cooled by sea or delta water. ~60,000 acres ain’t enough folks. Good luck with those power bills and paying them online … when the power isn’t cycling through brown outs for years to come.
