Fracking is just the industry’s way of destroying the environment as much as possible showing little for it. Fracking is a major contributor to keeping the company’s energy return on investment (EROI) quite low due to the high depletion rate of the wells. In an earlier era, producer growth related closely to the number of wells drilled. Today, oil production from a new well often declines sharply after the first year.

Bottom line: fracking is NOT providing a bang for the buck!
