Clearly the LA City Council and power users in So. Cal. fit the definition of low information voters/power users. So they deserve the black outs that will befall them this summer. And it is quite possible, if not probable, that CalISO's now month old forecasts of hydro power generation are going to turn out to be overly optimistic. That because just released updated forecasts of runoff into reservoirs up and down the state are showing less reservoir inflow than predicted just last month.

On one hand hope that CalISO doesn't try to raid power from other parts of the state power grid, with resulting blackouts, to backfill shortages in So Cal. Time will tell and we in the Central Valley will be watching.

On the other hand I hope CalISO does so that power users far and wide get a grasp of the power shortage reality our state is facing because of environmental activism and the NIMBY mentality.

When the nuke plant broke down, I predicted the zealots would never let it operate again. Guess I was right.

Obama and his tsars want high, high energy costs. They will get them.

Nuke power is safe, clean (except for the huge waste issue) and efficient, although expensive. The problem with SONGS is that the technological basis for the plant is wildly outdated. The plant has leaked, belched out radioactive emissions and safety violated with regularity almost since the day it went on line. ALL of that has been widely reported including it's last fiasco of leaking radiation, as yet unable to be resolved in full. There is still no longitudinal cancer study around the plant.

Songs needs to go. It has outlived it's life based on what it's builders intended.
